Ethical AI Foundations

A foundational 6-module program that builds AI literacy, equity awareness, and responsible AI skills for organizations, educators, HR teams, nonprofits, and public sector staff.

Modules

Module 1: Understanding AI Through an Equity Lens

Gain foundational AI literacy while exploring how technology shapes, and is shaped by, systems of power. This module introduces core concepts, real-world examples, and an equity-centred framework for understanding AI’s impact on diverse communities.

Module 2: Gender, Power & Intersectionality in AI

Examine how AI systems reflect and amplify gender norms, stereotypes, and intersecting forms of oppression. Participants learn to identify risks, analyze power dynamics, and apply intersectional thinking to AI decisions.

Module 3: Bias, Inequity & Data Justice in AI

Explore how bias enters datasets and algorithms, who is most affected, and what data justice means in practice. This module provides tools for assessing inequitable impacts and promoting fair, representative AI systems.

Module 4: Ethical & Responsible Use of Gen AI

Develop practical skills for using generative AI tools safely, ethically, and effectively. Learn responsible prompting, privacy safeguards, review processes, and inclusive practices that ensure AI outputs support, not harm, people and communities.

Module 5: Policy, Risk Management & AI Governance

Understand how organizations can create guardrails that reduce harm and strengthen trust. This module covers policy development, risk assessment, vendor evaluation, and governance structures that support ethical, transparent AI use.

Module 6: Tools, Templates & Real-World Examples

Apply learning to real scenarios using practical templates, assessments, and decision-making frameworks. Participants practice evaluating tools, identifying risks, and designing people-centred, culturally responsive AI solutions for their workplace.

Lead the future of AI; build the skills to use it ethically, responsibly, and with impact today.
